भारत के कप्तान रोहित शर्मा ने पुष्टि की कि मोहम्मद शमी की अंतर्राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट में वापसी और भी अधिक विलंबित हो सकती है, क्योंकि उन्हें हाल ही में एक और चोट लगी है।
इस साल फ़रवरी में शमी के दाहिने (एचिलीस टेंडन) पैर की सर्जरी हुई थी, अब उनके घुटने में सूजन आ गई है, जिससे उनकी रिकवरी में देरी हो रही है। रोहित के अनुसार, "अभी यह कहना मुश्किल है कि वह इस सीरीज़ या ऑस्ट्रेलिया सीरीज़ के लिए फ़िट होंगे या नहीं। हाल ही में उन्हें एक और चोट लगी है, उनके घुटने में सूजन आ गई, जो काफ़ी असामान्य है।
