சூர்யகுமார் யாதவ் தலைமையிலான இந்திய அணி சமீபத்தில் தென் ஆப்பிரிக்காவில் சுற்றுப்பணம் செய்து நான்கு போட்டிகள் கொண்ட டி20 தொடரில் விளையாடியது. இத்தொடரின் முடிவில் இந்திய அணி 3-1 என்ற கணக்கில் தென் ஆப்பிரிக்காவை அதன் சொந்த மண்ணிலேயே வீழ்த்தி அபார வெற்றியைப் பதிவுசெய்ததுடன், டி20 தொடரையும் கைப்பற்றி அசத்தியது.
இந்நிலையில் இத்தொடரின் போது தென் ஆப்பிரிக்க அணி வேகப்பந்து வீச்சாளர் ஐசிசி நடத்தை விதிகளை மீறியதாக அவருக்கு அபராதம் விதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. அதன்படி இந்திய அணிக்கு எதிரான நான்காவது டி20 போட்டியின் போது ஜெரால்ட் கோட்ஸி கள நடுவரின் முடிவை ஏற்கமறுத்ததாக குற்றஞ்சாட்டப்பட்டுள்ளது. அந்தவகையில் அவரது பந்துவீச்சின் போது கள நடுவர் வைட் என்பதை கொடுத்ததற்கு கோட்ஸி தனது எதிர்பினை தெரிவித்திருந்தார்.
