लीड्स, 21 जून (CRICKETNMORE)| अनुभवी लसिथ मलिंगा समेत अन्य गेंदबाजों के दमदार प्रदर्शन की बदौलत श्रीलंका ने यहां हेडिंग्ले मैदान पर शुक्रवार को खेले गए वर्ल्ड कप के एक रोमांचक मैच में इंग्लैंड को 20 रनों से पराजित किया। श्रीलंका द्वारा दिए गए 233 रनों के लक्ष्य का पीछा करते हुए खिताब की प्रबल दावेदार मानी जा रही इंग्लैंड की टीम 47 ओवर में 212 रनों पर ही सिमट गई। इस वर्ल्ड कप में श्रीलंका की यह दूसरी जीत है।
मेहमान टीम की ओर से लसिथ मलिंगा ने चार, जबकि धनंजय डिसिल्वा ने तीन और इसुरु उदाना ने दो विकेट चटकाए। नुवान प्रदीप को एक विकेट मिला। मलिंगा को 'मैन ऑफ द मैच' चुना गया।
