मैच से पहले दिए गए इंटरव्यू में उन्होंने कहा, "ये साफ है कि मैं पांचों मैच तो नहीं खेलूंगा। हम हर मैच के बाद आंकलन करेंगे कि मेरी फिटनेस कैसी है और मैं कितनी तेज़ गेंदबाजी कर पा रहा हूं और फिर उसके अनुसार ही फैसला लिया जाएगा कि मैं कौन से मैच में खेलंगू और कौन से मैच में नहीं।"
