ऑस्ट्रेलिया के खिलाफ खेली जा रही 5 मैचों की टी20 इंटरनेशनल सीरीज के चौथे मैच में भारतीय सलामी बल्लेबाज ऋतुराज गायकवाड़ (Ruturaj Gaikwad) ने एक बड़ी उपलब्धि अपने नाम कर ली। गायकवाड़ मेंस टी20 क्रिकेट में सबसे तेज 4,000 रन पूरे करने वाले भारतीय बन गए हैं। उन्होंने केएल राहुल को पछाड़ दिया है। रायपुर के शहीद वीर नारायण सिंह इंटरनेशनल स्टेडियम में जब वो खेलने उतरे तो उन्हें ये आंकड़ा छूने के लिए मात्र 7 रन की जरुरत थी।
गायकवाड़ ने केवल 116 पारियों में अपने 4,000 टी20 रन पूरे किए, जिससे वह यह उपलब्धि हासिल करने वाले सबसे तेज भारतीय बल्लेबाज बन गए। इस धाकड़ सलामी बल्लेबाज ने केएल राहुल को पीछे छोड़ दिया है, जिन्होंने 117 टी20 पारियों में यह उपलब्धि हासिल करने का रिकॉर्ड बनाया था। विराट कोहली 138 टी20 पारियों में यह उपलब्धि हासिल करने वाले तीसरे सबसे तेज भारतीय हैं।
