विशाखापट्टनम, 7 अक्टूबर | भारतीय टीम के पूर्व सलामी बल्लेबाज वीरेंद्र सहवाग ने राष्ट्रीय टेस्ट टीम के नए सलामी बल्लेबाज रोहित शर्मा की जमकर तारीफ की है। रोहित ने बतौर सलामी बल्लेबाज अपने पहले टेस्ट मैच में 176 और 127 रनों की पारियां खेलीं थीं।
सहवाग ने कहा है कि यह रोहित के लिए टेस्ट में बतौर सलामी बल्लेबाज स्वर्णिम शुरुआत है। लोकेश राहुल की खेल के लंबे प्रारूप में सलामी बल्लेबाज की असफलता को देखते हुए टीम प्रबंधन ने सीमित ओवरों के नियमित सलामी बल्लेबाज रोहित शर्मा को टेस्ट में पारी की शुरुआत करने का मौका दिया। इसका फायदा रोहित ने दोनों हाथों से उठाया और साउथ अफ्रीका के साथ यहां खेले गए पहले टेस्ट मैच में दोनों पारियों में शतक जमा मैन ऑफ द मैच चुने गए।
