बर्मिंघम टेस्ट के तीसरे दिन भारत ने इंग्लैंड को उसकी पहली पारी में 407 रन पर ऑलआउट कर 180 रन की बढ़त हासिल कर ली। मोहम्मद सिराज ने 6 विकेट लेकर भारतीय टीम को मैच में मजबूत स्थिति में ला दिया। इस दौरान सिराज ने कुछ ही गेंदों के फासले में इंग्लैंड की टेल को सफा कर दिया।
इस दौरान जब इंग्लैंड के टेलेंडर शोएब बशीर बल्लेबाजी के लिए आए तो सिराज ने उन पर बाउंसर ट्राई किया और उनकी ये खतरनाक बॉल बशीर के हेल्मेट पर जा लगी जिसके बाद फीजियो को मैदान पर आना पड़ा। सिराज का ये बाउंसर देखकर टीम इंडिया के विकेटकीपर बल्लेबाज ऋषभ पंत भी उनके मज़े लेने से पीछे नहीं हटे।
