அதன்படி இப்போடியில் டாஸ் வென்ற முதலில் பேட்டிங் செய்த இலங்கை அணியில் அவிஷ்கா ஃபெர்னாண்டோ 98 ரன்களையும், குசால் மெண்டிஸ் 59 ரன்களையும் குவித்தததன் மூலம் 50 ஓவர்கள் முடிவில் 7 விக்கெட்டுகளை இழந்து 248 ரன்களைச் சேர்த்தது. இந்திய அணி தரப்பில் அறிமுக வீரராக களமிறங்கிய ரியான் பராக் 3 விக்கெட்டுகளை கைப்பற்றி அசத்தினார். இதனையடுத்து இலக்கை நோக்கி விளையாடிய இந்திய அணி பேட்டர்கள் சோபிக்க தவறினர்.
