ऑस्ट्रेलिया में शेफील्ड शील्ड टूर्नामेंट (Sheffield Shield) खेला जा रहा है जहां 11वां मुकाबला विक्टोरिया (Victoria) और वेस्टर्न ऑस्ट्रेलिया (Western Australia) के बीच हुआ। इस मैच के दौरान एक सच्चे खिलाड़ी का जज़्बा देखने को मिला। दरअसल, वेस्टर्न ऑस्ट्रेलिया के ऑलराउंडर एश्टन एगर (Ashton Agar) मुकाबले के दौरान बुरी तरह चोटिल हो गए थे, लेकिन इसके बावजूद जरूरत पड़ने पर वो अपनी टीम के लिए बैटिंग करने आए और उन्होंने एक हाथ से बल्लेबाज़ी की।
ये घटना वेस्टर्न ऑस्ट्रेलिया की दूसरी इनिंग के दौरान देखने को मिली। एगर के कंधे पर चोट आ गई थी जिस वज़ह से वो ऊपर बैटिंग करने नहीं आए थे। हालांकि जब उनकी टीम को जरूरत हुई तो उन्होंने नंबर 10 पर बैटिंग करने का फैसला किया। एगर विकेटकीपर बल्लेबाज़ जोएल कर्टिस का साथ निभाने मैदान पर उतरे थे।
