The middle overs (7-16) are of much importance in a T20 game. With the field restrictions lifted after the 6th over, batters have to play responsibly in the middle overs while scoring runs with the help of regular and necessary boundaries.

Here are the top 5 batters who have scored the most runs in middle overs (7th-16th over) in the IPL 2022 till now. 


#5. Sanju Samson (227 runs)

Rajasthan Royals are placed on the 3rd spot on the points table, on the verge of qualification with 7 wins in 12 matches. The credit belongs to captain Sanju Samson & Orange Cap holder Jos Buttler. The Royals' skipper has scored 227 runs in 151 balls, striking at 150.33 with 16 sixes and 15 fours in 12 innings.


#4. Nitish Rana (231 runs)

Even though Kolkata Knight Riders are almost out of the qualification race, KKR middle-order batter Nitish Rana has scored 231 runs in 10 innings. Facing 160 balls, Rana has maintained a strike rate of 144.37 with 14 sixes and 15 fours to his name in IPL 2022 now. 


#3. Deepak Hooda (254 runs)

Lucknow Super Giants middle-order batter Deepak Hooda has shown good form this season, especially in the middle overs as his team stands second on the points table, almost on the verge of qualification. Hooda has scored 254 runs in the middle overs in 11 innings. Facing 192 balls, the right-handed batter has a strike rate of 132.29 with 9 sixes and 20 fours to his name.
