Mushfiqur Out Of WI Test Opener With Finger Injury; Expected To Return For Sylhet Test
Bangla National Cricket Stadium: Bangladesh will begin their Test series against the West Indies without veteran wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim, who has been ruled out of the opening match after failing to recover sufficiently from an index-finger injury sustained during a training session. However, the team expects the experienced batter to be available for the second Test in Sylhet, beginning November 5.
Mushfiqur injured his finger while batting in the nets at the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Academy on Tuesday, a day before the series opener at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka. A delivery from a net bowler struck his finger, forcing him to leave the session in pain.
