नई डब्ल्यूटीसी साइकिल से पहले रोस्टन चेज को वेस्टइंडीज का टेस्ट कप्तान नियुक्त किया गया
तीन टेस्ट मैचों की यह सीरीज विश्व टेस्ट चैंपियनशिप 2025-27 साइकिल में दोनों ही टीमों के लिए पहली सीरीज होगी। क्रिकेट वेस्टइंडीज की तरफ से दिए गए बयान के मुताबिक, टीम के नए कप्तान और उपकप्तान की नियुक्ति बोर्ड के निदेशकों की 16 मई को हुई बैठक में सर्वसम्मति से की गई। कप्तान और उपकप्तान की घोषणा दोनों खिलाड़ियों के प्रदर्शन का मूल्यांकन करने के बाद एक मजबूत प्रक्रिया के तहत की गई है।
बयान में आगे कहा गया है, "टीम संस्कृति को आकार देने और लंबे समय तक सफलता को सुनिश्चित करने में नेतृत्व की महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका को पहचानते हुए बोर्ड ने टीम के उद्देश्य, जवाबदेही और आधुनिक क्रिकेट के मानकों को ध्यान में रखते हुए नेतृत्व का चयन किया है। इसके अलावा डाटा से भी जानकारी जुटाई गई।"
