हमजा अपने दाहिने ग्लूट में दर्द से जूझ रहे थे। तीसरे टेस्ट से पहले वे टीम के किसी भी सत्र में प्रशिक्षण का हिस्सा नहीं थे और मंगलवार को उन्हें पाकिस्तान टीम के फिजियोथेरेपिस्ट के साथ बैंड पुनर्वास अभ्यास करते देखा गया।
बाएं हाथ के इस तेज गेंदबाज को पहले और अंतिम दो टेस्ट के लिए टीम में शामिल किया गया था, लेकिन श्रृंखला के दौरान किसी भी समय प्लेइंग इलेवन में शामिल नहीं किया गया। पाकिस्तान के लिए उनका आखिरी प्रदर्शन रावलपिंडी में बांग्लादेश के खिलाफ दूसरे टेस्ट में था। 32 वर्षीय इस खिलाड़ी ने 42.08 की औसत से 12 विकेट लिए हैं।
