भारतीय मध्यक्रम के बल्लेबाज श्रेयस अय्यर हाल ही में समाप्त हुई साउथ अफ्रीका टेस्ट सीरीज में भारतीय टीम का हिस्सा थे लेकिन बल्ले से वो अपनी छाप छोड़ने में असफल रहे। अय्यर ने अफ्रीका की उछाल भरी पिचों पर भी अटैकिंग क्रिकेट खेलनाज जारी रखा लेकिन वो सफल ना हो सके। अब उन्होंने टेस्ट क्रिकेट को लेकर एक बयान दिया है जो काफी चर्चा का विषय बना हुआ है।
अय्यर ने टेस्ट मैचों में गेंद छोड़ने पर बोलते हुए कहा कि ये उन्हें "बोरिंग" बनाता है। अपनी आक्रामक शैली के लिए जाने जाने वाले अय्यर ने नकारात्मक गेंदबाजी रणनीति के खिलाफ भी आक्रामक शॉट खेलने को प्राथमिकता दी। रणजी ट्रॉफी में आंध्र प्रदेश पर मुंबई की 10 विकेट की जीत के बाद, अय्यर ने ये बयान दिया।
