जॉनसन ने गुरुवार को ‘द नाइटली’ में अपने कॉलम में लिखा,“बॉल टैंपरिंग प्रकरण को लेकर एक साल के निलंबन और दो साल के नेतृत्व प्रतिबंध के बाद स्टीव स्मिथ को श्रीलंका में टेस्ट कप्तान के रूप में वापस लाने के फैसले के बारे में, मैं संदेह को समझ सकता हूं। जबकि कई प्रशंसक उनके नेतृत्व की प्रशंसा करते हैं, मैं उन लोगों में से हूं जिन्हें 35 साल की उम्र में उनके फिर से कप्तान बनने पर संदेह है।”
