Sri Lanka: इंग्लैंड के खिलाफ ओवल में तीसरे टेस्ट में आठ विकेट से मिली शानदार जीत के बाद आईसीसी टेस्ट रैंकिंग में छह श्रीलंकाई खिलाड़ियों को बंपर बढ़त मिली। श्रीलंका की इस जीत का श्रेय कप्तान धनंजय डी सिल्वा, ऑलराउंडर कामिन्दु मेंडिस और सलामी बल्लेबाज पथुम निसंका को जाता है।
टेस्ट की पहली पारी में श्रीलंका के लिए 69 रन की शानदार पारी खेलने वाले डि सिल्वा ने बल्लेबाजों की रैंकिंग में तीन पायदान की छलांग लगाकर 13वें स्थान पर जगह बनाते हुए करियर की नई सर्वोच्च रैंकिंग हासिल की है।
मेंडिस छह पायदान की छलांग लगाकर 19वें स्थान पर पहुंच गए हैं, जबकि निसंका ने इंग्लैंड के खिलाफ 64 और नाबाद 127 रन बनाने के बाद 42 पायदान की छलांग लगाकर 39वें स्थान पर पहुंच गए हैं।
