सिडनी मॉर्निंग हेराल्ड के अनुसार, क्रिकेट ऑस्ट्रेलिया के अध्यक्ष माइक बेयर्ड, इंग्लैंड और वेल्स क्रिकेट बोर्ड के प्रमुख रिचर्ड थॉम्पसन और बीसीसीआई के प्रतिनिधि इस महीने के अंत में आईसीसी के अध्यक्ष जय शाह से मिलेंगे और 2027 में शुरू होने वाली संभावित दो-स्तरीय टेस्ट प्रणाली के बारे में चर्चा करेंगे।
लॉयड ने कहा, "ठीक है, मुझे नहीं लगता कि दो-स्तरीय प्रणाली लागू होगी। मैं इस बारे में बहुत परेशान हूं और मुझे उम्मीद है कि कुछ किया जाएगा, और इसे अभी रोका जाना चाहिए। हम 30 या 40 क्रिकेट टीमों की बात नहीं कर रहे हैं - यह दस टीमों की बात है। हमें एक ऐसी प्रणाली बनाने में सक्षम होना चाहिए, जिसमें हर कोई अक्सर क्रिकेट खेले।"
