मेजर लीग क्रिकेट (MLC) 2025 के लिए 19 फरवरी को होने वाले ड्राफ्ट से पहले सभी छह फ्रेंचाइजी ने अपने रिटेंशन का ऐलान कर दिया है। डिफेंडिंग चैंपियन वॉशिंगटन फ्रीडम ने सबसे ज्यादा 15 प्लेयर्स को रिटेन किया है, लेकिन चौंकाने वाली बात ये रही कि उन्होंने पिछले सीजन के जॉइंट-हाईएस्ट स्कोरर ट्रैविस हेड और टीम के कप्तान स्टीव स्मिथ को रिलीज कर दिया। टीम ने सिर्फ दो विदेशी खिलाड़ियों अकील होसैन और एंड्रू टाई को रिटेन किया है।
पिछले सीजन की रनर-अप टीम सैन फ्रांसिस्को यूनिकॉर्न्स ने अपने स्टार बॉलर पैट कमिंस, मैट हेनरी और जोश इंग्लिस को रिलीज कर दिया है, लेकिन ओपनिंग जोड़ी फिन एलेन और जेक फ्रेजर-मैकगर्क को बरकरार रखा है।
