सीरीज गंवाने के बाद ऋषभ पंत ने कहा, "यह हार निराशाजनक है। एक टीम के तौर पर हमें बेहतर होने की जरूरत है। आपको विरोधी टीम को श्रेय देना होगा कि उन्होंने हमसे बेहतर क्रिकेट खेला। आप जानते हैं, इस तरह की सीरीज में अगर आप बहुत ज्यादा सोचते हैं, तो आपको सीखना होगा और एक टीम के तौर पर टिके रहना होगा।"
पंत ने स्वीकारा है कि मेहमान टीम ने सीरीज में शानदार प्रदर्शन किया। उन्होंने कहा, "निश्चित रूप से साउथ अफ्रीका ने सीरीज में दबदबा बनाया, लेकिन आप क्रिकेट को हल्के में नहीं ले सकते। भविष्य में हम बेहतर होंगे और इससे सीखेंगे।"
