T20 World Cup: टी20 विश्व कप 2024 के यादगार लम्हे आज भी भारतीय क्रिकेट फैंस के मन में खास जगह रखते हैं, लेकिन क्रिकेट के इस महाकुंभ के दौरान मुश्किल और खराब पिच एक बड़ी बहस का मुद्दा रही। टी20 फॉर्मेट में बल्लेबाजों को एक-एक रन के लिए तरसता देख, हर कोई हैरान था। टूर्नामेंट का आयोजन अमेरिका और वेस्टइंडीज की मेजबानी में हुआ था।
अमेरिकी में क्रिकेट को बढ़ावा देने के लिए यहां टूर्नामेंट का आयोजन किया गया था, लेकिन मेगा इवेंट को कराने के लिए अमेरिका में पिच से लेकर व्यवस्था तक काफी मुश्किलों का सामना करना पड़ा। विश्व कप के लिए अमेरिका में नासाऊ काउंटी क्रिकेट स्टेडियम के रूप में एक अस्थाई स्टेडियम भी बनाया गया था। न्यूयॉर्क की पिचों पर 8 मैच खेले गए थे जिन पर बल्लेबाजों को रन बनाने में दिक्कत आई।
अब आईसीसी ने इन पिचों को खराब रेटिंग दी है। हालांकि, विश्व कप में भारत और पाकिस्तान के बीच जो मुकाबला हुआ था, उस पिच को संतोषजनक बताया गया है। आईसीसी की रिपोर्ट में न्यूयॉर्क के नसाउ काउंटी स्टेडियम में खेले गए पहले दो मैचों और तरौबा के ब्रायन लारा अकादमी में हुए सेमीफाइनल के लिए तैयार किए गए पिचों को 'असंतोषजनक' रेटिंग दी है।
