ऑस्ट्रेलिया ने टॉस जीतकर पहले बल्लेबाजी का फैसला किया था। टीम की शुरुआत अच्छी नहीं रही। सलामी बल्लेबाज जॉर्जिया वॉल 8 और तीसरे नंबर पर बल्लेबाजी के लिए उतरीं फोएबे लिचफिल्ड 6 रन बनाकर आउट हो गईं। दोनों का विकेट 34 के स्कोर पर गिर गया था। इसके बाद पारी की शुरुआत करने आईं बेथ मूनी और एल्सी पेरी ने टीम को संभाला और तीसरे विकेट के लिए 99 रनों की मजबूत साझेदारी कर टीम का स्कोर 16.3 ओवर में 133 तक पहुंचा दिया।
पेरी तीसरे विकेट के रूप में 32 गेंदों पर 2 चौकों और 1 छक्के की मदद से 36 रन की पारी खेलकर आउट हुईं।
